SALT COVENANT

An excerpt from Pastor Jentezen Franklin’s message

I watched the video of Pastor Jenzten’s message on Salt Covenant which really changed my attitude to Christian living. We are just in Blood Covenant through Jesus Christ but much more than that we are in Salt Covenant with the Jesus Christ. Excited?? Let’s see what it is all about. Trust me it’s very important for every Christian to hear this message in these end times.

There are two major covenants in the Bible, The Blood Covenant and The Salt Covenant. The Blood Covenant has to do with our redemption; it is how we are saved by the Blood of the Sacrifice, Jesus Christ. We are in Blood Covenant with the King of Kings, which means if the enemy messes around with us; the King will have to mess up with the enemy (Satan).

Now about the Salt Covenant, we read in Leviticus 2:13, “Season all your grain offerings with salt. Do not leave the salt of the covenant of your God out of your grain offerings; add salt to all your offerings.” The Lord instructs Aaron saying whether you bring bread or meat offering, when you place that on the altar you should make sure one thing- never bring me a offering that does not have salt on it. In short- ‘Make sure you put salt on the sacrifice’

Jesus used salt many times in his talking’s and teachings. Mark 9:49, 50 says, “Everyone will be salted with fire. Salt is good, but if it loses its saltiness, how can you make it salty again? Have salt in yourselves, and be at peace with each other."

In the Middle East the salt speaks about something very powerful. It was used firstly for business agreements, one person would bring bread to the table and the other person would bring salt. The person who brings the salt would sprinkle it on the bread and they both would break the break and eat it. That’s how they made a salt covenant in agreement of their business issues. But we know that the Bread represents Jesus Christ. Jesus said I am the Bread that is come down from heaven; it is this Bread which will be broken for you. Bread from heaven in Old Testament was round, which shows Jesus, the Bread from heaven is never ending. The White of the Bread represents purity. But notice that when we come to the communion table everything is provided, Jesus said the bread which is on the table represents His body which was offered as a meat offering for the sins of mankind. Then what do you and I do? What does God wants us to bring to the table? He wants us to bring the Salt, i.e. the salt of personal holiness, the salt of consecration, the salt of separated and pure life before God. The bread is already on the table but He says I want you to bring the Salt; I want you to salt what I have provided with your consecrated, personal holiness, a life that is pure, hands that are clean and hands that are pure before me.

In Numbers 18:19 says, "All the offerings of the holy gifts, which the sons of Israel offer to the LORD, I have given to you and your sons and your daughters with you, as a perpetual allotment. It is an everlasting covenant of salt before the LORD to you and your descendants with you." It is a powerful thing when you begin to understand we bring something to the table. Yes, the Lord had provided bread, the Grace but thing that makes Lord powerful in our lives is when we live a life of consecration, when we bring to the table our life where we have shun the wrong and we have done the right, when we have been in His word and when we have walked pure before Him, then we pour the salt. For He says never offer me a sacrifice if don’t have salt on it.

I would like to end the message excerpt here. You can watch the complete video here. The message is conveyed so simple and clear. We got to bring something when we come before Jesus and that is pure and holy life pleasing to the Heavenly Daddy!!!

God Bless You!!

Jesus died for our sins

But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us. Since we have now been justified by his blood, how much more shall we be saved from God's wrath through him!
Romans 5:8-9

Man was made to worship God and serve him without death. But man was trapped by the devil, which deceived man which the entire human race into death, sin, curse, sickness, pain, handicap, poor and a life full of gift. God still had a way out for the human race, but they continued to live in sin and guilt. But as John 3:16 says,"For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life."

So Jesus Christ, the Son of God came to this earth as a man, he lived like us, ate like us, felt the hunger, thirst, pain, despise, loneliness, tiredness, and all that. But all through his life he led a sinless life even though he had temptations and mocking. The Pharisees, Jews and Sadducee's all turned against him. He taught life lessons, healed the sick, rose the dead, cleansed the lepers, fed thousands, calmed the sea, cast the demon possessed, turned water to vine, and it goes on.
